Fuel Cells: The next Viagra?

In a stunning reversal of policy for this administration, the US is walking away from a 1.5 billion dollar project to develop high-mileage gas-powered vehicles in favour of developing fuel cells.

While this is one small step for humankind, it seems to me to mark a dramatic shift in who is lining the republican’s pockets. The gas companies are clearly losing out here, as it has been the Big 3 car makers that have been leading fuel cell research on a massive-corporation scale.

  1. that is indeed very interesting. i know a fella who works at Ballard and have been quite interested in talking to him about the politics surrounding the engineering work that he does. I’ve been wondering if the ground has been about to shift, as I’ve noticed a few ads in various locales for the hybrid cars from Toyota and Honda popping up where they were previously conspicuously absent.
