Buy a Honda, save the planet

There’s an interesting advertorial about Honda over in the NYTimes, about Honda’s maverick eco-initiatives in their engineering. Leading the way in fuel efficiency, not joining the coalition against increased mileage requirements, all seem quite decent. Of course, on the down side, and happily is mentioned, Honda is non-union, and vehemently so.

  1. Well, and also, I heard a rumour that building a hybrid engine uses up huge amounts of energy, which isn’t offset by the energy they save. I don’t know any details, but it’s an angle I’d like to hear about in the press.

  3. I’ve never heard that, but I think I should definitely see what truth there is to that, before I start touting hybrid cars as the way of the future, or something like that.
