Cultural Barometer

Maybe I should relent and accept that the enjoyment of DFW is an important cultural barometer of how much I will like you. Case in point? Mark Morford makes off-hand DFW references in a postive way, and I like what Mr. Morford has to say:

To Peter F: Sorry, but I do so enjoy unorthodox contractions. I like “sort’ve” and “might’ve” and even Foster Wallace gems like “couldn’t’ve” or “can’t’ve.” I enjoy them irregardless of what people say, regardless of what anyone thinks of “irregardless.” I like how they move, the feel in the mouth. Which is my preferred test for most things in life, actually.
