Too much time, too little to do

Go here. Click on any one of the photos. The resulting page in the pop-up window is that same photograph. Only it’s not a photo. It’s a css version of that photo, lovingly recreated one pixel at a time. I’ve no idea how it’s done. I’ve no idea why it’s done. But it’s insane. And I like it
