I wonder sometimes if other people from Ontario have an extra appreciation for Naughty by Nature’s O.P.P that I do, on account of the irony generated by that multipurpose acronym. Much in the same way that London Calling is now being used to sell upscale cars, do you think perhaps in 25 years, the message & intent of the lyrics long since dulled, this might be used as a promo piece? Particularly if they isolate the chorus for the commercial:
Who’s down with OPP (Every last lady)
You down with OPP (Yeah you know me) 3X
Who’s down with OPP (All the ladies)
A ‘The Ontario Provincial Police is an equal-opportunity employer’ could be tacked onto this commercial somewhere too, for good measure.
