Question

Could anyone please tell me if they are unable to select text from this website? Currently, running IE 6 (SP1) on Windows XP (SP1), I cannot select content from my own site to copy and paste elsewhere. Random testing on other sites reveals this appears to be unique to my site. Load Mozilla, I can select to my heart’s content (love that view selected source option). Marian, sitting across the way here at work, can also quite happily select text from my site, although she’s running IE 5.5 on Windows 98. I’m also of the mind I can’t do this from home, where the hardware is different but the software remains the same

More than telling me whether or not you can select text, could anyone tell me why I can’t select text?

  1. IE 5.0, Windows 98 – I can seem to select/copy/paste just fine from here. Done this once or twice before with no problems!!

  2. IE6 SP1, WIN2K — I can occasionally select a single word of text from your site, and occasionally select a random block of text from your site, but I can’t select a specific block of text as if your web site were a Word document. Just like everyone else though, I can’t tell you why this is the case.

  6. Here with the Taiwanese version of MS explorer 6.0
I can select individual words by double clicking, triple clicking selects the entire text frame, and mouse drags select all text in the text frame, from the beginning, to the cursor. But only if you have double clicked recently. Odd.
