So this weekend, I returned to the gym after a several month absence. Actually, I went to a different gym, as both Leah and I are now YMCA members, which is conveniently 2 blocks from home. On Saturday, I did a 15-minute bike and then a round of upper-body weights. On Sunday, I did a 20-minute bike and then a round of lower-body weights. In doing, I’ve discovered a whole slew of muscles I’d forgotten I owned, principally, my triceps, pecs and that thin muscle on the outside of one’s thighs (so forgotton, I don’t even know it’s name), who are all singing loudly this morning with every movement. Tonight, it’s back to the gym for a swim, and then later tonight, hockey. I am going to get fit, damnit!
