gay marriage

I think it’s funny that I was so surprised that the response to today’s Globe & Mail online poll is so split. The question is whether gay marriages should be granted the same legal status as conventional marriages. To me, the answer seems obvious: yes. The poll’s respondants (as of 10:15am PST) are decidedly more split, at 50% yes and 50% no.

  1. I too am flummoxed that a vote of this nature would be split. But I am even more flummoxed that there is a status applied to the “married state”. It’s always annoyed me that you can gain or lose any kind of status by being married or having children, or not. Why can’t we all just be equal? And who thinks that non-gay relationships are conventional? And why? What’s up with this thinking?
