ESPN Redesign Interview

Read this interview over at Netscape’s DevEdge site with the Creative Director of ESPN.com about the hows and whys ESPN.com has redesigned to web standards (or more accurately, is publicly completing a redesign to web standards). I had PDF’d this article, because I want to show it to anyone who asks ‘why?’ when I say that I want to build their site to web standards. It includes both technical (look at their bandwidth savings) and business-case reasons in the interview, and with part 2 of the interview still to come, this should only get better.

(Link to this stolen from Supafamous, but only because I happened to be directed there from my last stop before Netscape’s DevEdge site. Still, credit where credit is due).

  1. Hmm.. I switched to using Mozilla 1.3 on the weekend. But ESPN’s website drove me nuts. 10% of the text were covered by ads. Because of the ESPN site, I stopped using Mozilla all together and went back to IE.
