Macromedia MAX

Macromedia has announced their new user con, Macromedia MAX, joining the old UCon and DevCon together. Joining those two makes business sense. What doesn’t make sense to me is the when and where. DevCon was supposed to be in early October in San Diego. MAX is slated for November 18-21st in Salt Lake City, Utah. Why on earth would I want to go to Salt Lake City, at the end of November? Particularly as I’m neither a mormon, nor a downhill skier? And when I’d been gearing myself up for a fun time in San Diego? And isn’t that US Thanksgiving to boot?

So now, rather than thinking I can’t wait to go again, I’m now wondering whether I want to, entirely because I think the location (and timing) sucks.

On the other hand, I think I might apply to speak there. I’m not sure about what though. What do I know, that I could teach other people, relating to Macromedia products?

  1. I’m with you. WTF? SLC, Utah? I don’t want to have a “Special Event” in 30 degrees weather! I want sun! I want sand! I want San Diego!

Macromedia screwed us DevCon-ites over. Mormon style.
