Globe Poll

Go vote in today’s Globe & Mail online poll. The question is:

Do you believe that same-sex unions undermine the sanctity of marriage?

I, of course, voted no, and while I think you should too, I won’t ask you to. But vote. Currently, the no has a 51% to 49% edge.

(because of course the results of this poll will set national policy for years to come, as you all know 😉

  1. i was always find the “yes” side oddly illogical. how can one marriage affect another (unless of course one partner is cheating with the other) or marriage on the whole?

i always figured marriage to be a personal thing, between the two parties getting married. that’s why i’d never be opposed to any… be them to same sex partners, to huacaya alpacas, or otherwise.

  3. sometimes i vote in these polls, usually not. i’m not sure if i like the idea of giving them more legitimacy by ‘upping’ their numbers. it’s like when they should you polls on the news: “70% of people who called in though…” well, when you think that people must call in to vote then what is it worth? nothing… really all you’re polling are the people who care enoguht o phone in and watch the show.

  5. I have a nasty fascination with polls myself. I particularly enjoy lying through my teeth during telephone polls. Why yes I am 50 year old man who smoke resgularly and makes more than $500 000 a year. Yes, I enjoy taking long drives in one of my 3 cars. The Province is my favourite newspaper. I will support Gordon Campbell in the upcoming election, you can count on it!
