Of the Top 25 Most Played songs in my playlist, 15 of them are those whose genre is listed as ‘Comedy’. My top 3 most played tracks, each of which has been played at least twice (11,9,8) as much as the 4-place finisher (4) are comedy also. In particular, they are Bill Hicks bits. There are well over 1000 tracks that have yet to be played. I wonder if there’s a hidden setting somewhere that I can force my randomizer to not repeat a track until all others have been played, ie. keep parity in my play count, or some such.
iTunes, however, appears to strongly dislike The Who — of a potential 156 tracks, it has only played 4 (once each).
My iTunes has finally got tired of Jethro Tull’s Aqualung but has taken a penchant for Vangelis’s “Friends of Mr. Cairo” (which I now have to stop it from playing), Indian music (which is a miniscule percentage of my playlist), and on the positive side, Boards of Canada. It’s a mystery.
