So apart from being the subject line of some spam I received this morning, the title has nothing to do with this post.
I’d just like to point out to everyone that when asking me to remember, off the top of my head, why I put in a specific set of code, amounting to two lines in one of 450 files of version 1 of the Pencilcase, about 4 years ago, I’m just not going to know the answer.
When I look at code I wrote four years ago, even though it is surprisingly well documented, I’ve long since lost the reasoning behind many of the decisions that I made at the time. Getting mad when I tell you that I no longer offer free support for that version is also not so helpful.
For reference, what would be helpful would be telling me a) what you’re trying to do b)what the error message is c)how I can recreate the error. Generally, when that happens, I can help you. Quite often, I can troubleshoot problems that aren’t even my fault if you follow the helpful steps listed above.
