Tofino Photos

So I’ve uploaded (& captioned) photos from my recent trip to Tofino. I’m pretty proud of the sunset shots. Also, please note that there’s an inordinate number of photos of fire. I was trying to figure out how to take a good picture of fire, because it’s hard (the focused bright light of the fire vs. the surrounding darkness). You’ll probably see that they get better as they go forward too, should you care.

  1. Hmm..I’m not so sure. Although, tellingly, I’ve essentially stopped taking non-digital pictures, which suggests I’ve become a convert. But seeing as most of my photographs end up online for people to see, I guess that yeah, I do prefer digital.
I find the bigger issue is discovering the particular qualities & quirks of a given camera, more so than the difference between film & digital. It’s taken a long time to get to know my current camera, but now that I’m getting it, I really like it. Although the trigger mechanism is a little slow for my liking, and I don’t like the zoom has preset stops, rather than the manual turn until I don’t want to turn any more, which gives more precision
