So I think I’ve tracked down a fairly annoying Cold Fusion MX (6.1) bug, which occurs if you meet the following conditions:
- You have “use trusted cache” on the CF Server
- You set the number of cached templates to be equal or greater than the number of templates on your server
- You cause an error to occur in a template
Because the number of templates cached has not been exceeded, the server doesn’t even check to see if you’ve uploaded a new file – it loads up the ‘trusted’ error message. In order to fix this, you need to restart the server, or clear the cache, or un-check trusted cache; which, when dealing with a public host, is not necessarily easily done.
So perhaps what Macromedia should do is keep some sort of notation for “error” templates, and not let those cache, which would solve this.
