Frustrated

Playing hockey, it’s really, really frustrating when your goalie is by far the weakest player on your team. It means that regardless of how well your team plays, you’re going to lose. Because if your goalie can’t stop a puck, the onus is on you to score more and more goals. And assuming that the opposing team’s goalie isn’t a bad player, scoring a ream of goals is not going to be possible.

And with a good goalie, I’m not saying we’d be winning all or games. Perhaps not even most of them. But, we’d be “in” most games. Scores would be, say, 4-3, rather than 10-3. Which makes for a much more enjoyable game. Also, knowing that a soft shot from the point won’t go in does a lot for our defensive confidence.

Grrrr…..
