  1. Steve-ness! Congratulations. Please let us know when you’re back from the hospital (Jeff has our contact info). Do you have any food allergies? I’d love to bring by a dish so that the two of you don’t have to worry about cooking.

  5. Congratulations, Steve and Leah! How wonderful. Thanks so much for posting a photo; Liam is exceptionally cute! Can’t wait to meet him and see Leah again. When you’ve had a reasonable chance to rest, bring them out to a game. Hope your three fingers are intact. 🙂

  7. Leah and Steve:
Congratulations – what a wonderful production team you two are! I can’t wait to see and hold Liam in person – he is so beautiful (no of course I’m not biased!). I know that you will both love life with Liam (despite inevitable sleepless nights and challenges of parenthood) but also make sure you make time for each other every day – no matter how brief – to nurture your own relationship. This is life- wisdom passed down from grandmothers (my own, Ian’s and yours, and now Liam’s)!

    To my grandson Liam:
Welcome to this world! Although, I know you cannot understand fully at this point – you will soon realize how fortunate you are to be born to, loved and nurtured by two very special people – your Mum and Dad- Leah & Steve.

Although no-one can guarantee a wonderful world for you to grow up in, your Mum and Dad will do their utmost to help you grow and develop to your full capacity and to be able to laugh and see the positive side of people and events, no matter how dark they initially might appear to be. Also, as you get to know your extended family (cousins, aunts, uncles, grandarents, great-aunts and uncles, great-grandparents and so on) , you will discover that this is our collective pledge to you also.
