Way to go Marian!

Marian Bantjes, my former boss, has just had 4 pieces accepted by the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, in the US. Congratulations, Marian!

Here are the 4 pieces, along with the notes that Marian sent out:

  1. The Design Matters Live poster, which I designed with love for Debbie Millman’s AIGA/Adobe-sponsored live version of her great, great show, Design Matters.

  2. The Fox River Paper booklet which was designed by Rick Valicenti and Gina Vieceli-Garza at Thirst, and which contains 40 glorious pages of me, me, me (ahem). And if you don’t have one, but you want one, just drop me a line & I’ll send it to you.

  3. The Seduction poster for the Yale Architecture Lecture series, designed by Michael Bierut at Pentagram, and featuring my “clumsy and forced”, but otherwise sexy custom type. (A little in-joke, there, for avid readers of Design Observer.)

  4. and my own self promotion poster from 2003, which sometimes goes by the false promise of “Poster One”, and includes the death-defying phrase: “This being the first in a series of posters, Featuring an Exaltation of Protean Ornament and Other Fancy Stuff.” Please don’t ask about this so-called series.

I’m so happy for her!
