Today, in school, I learned that in Windows 2003, ‘services’ is a reserved directory name on a webserver. Because I didn’t learn this sooner, my corporate site has been broken for at least a month. So clearly, I don’t look at my site too often, but looking at the hits, a fair number of people saw this broken page — and not a single one wrote in to tell me. I wonder if they just assumed that we were developing something? I’m also cheezed that my hosting company (CrystalTech, normally excellent), didn’t inform us of this, or when doing the upgrade, have some kind of script to test these things out….
Oh well, it’s fixed now.
